Confidence. If you have it, you can make anything look good. Fashion is made to become unfashionable. Go to a place where you’re not going to be stressed, because a honeymoon itself can be a stressful thing.

I think there is something about luxury – it’s not something people need, but it’s what they want. It really pulls at their heart. I still appreciate individuality. Style is much more interesting than fashion, really.

Design and style should work toward making you look good and feel good without a lot of effort so you can get on with the things that matter. Delete the negative; accentuate the positive! Never in my wildest dreams did I entertain the idea that I would become a fashion designer. I can’t get sucked into that celebrity thing, because I think it’s just crass. An evening dress that reveals a woman’s ankles while walking is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen.

I think it’s the responsibility of a designer to try to break rules and barriers. If you cut a painter’s hands off, he’d still feel the urge to pick up a brush. That is the key of this collection, being yourself. Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live. You have to always work against what you did before, and even against your taste. Fashion to me has become very disposable; I wanted to get back to craft, to clothes that could last.

I love my beauty. It’s not my fault. I love the 2000s because everyone started to love haute couture. I try to contrast; life today is full of contrast… We have to change. Confidence. If you have it, you can make anything look good. Jeans represent democracy in fashion.
