The difference between style and fashion is quality. I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern, very now – no one wears head-to-toe designer anymore. My relationships with producers or photographers – these are relationships that took years. Fashion is always of the time in which you live. It is not something standing alone. But the grand problem, the most important problem, is to rejeuvenate women. To make women look young. Then their outlook changes. They feel more joyous. I always loved aesthetics. Not particularly fashion, but an idea of beauty.

Confidence. If you have it, you can make anything look good. Women are women, and hurray for that. Men don’t want another man to look at their woman because they don’t know how to handle it. Men don’t want another man to look at their woman because they don’t know how to handle it. I believe in comfort. If you don’t feel comfortable in your clothes, it’s hard to think of anything else.

I’d like to believe that the women who wear my clothes are not dressing for other people, that they’re wearing what they like and what suits them. It’s not a status thing. I have my favourite fashion decade, yes, yes, yes: ’60s. It was a sort of little revolution; the clothes were amazing but not too exaggerated. Fashion moves so quickly that, unless you have a strong point of view, you can lose integrity. The key to my collections is sensuality. I feel that things happen for a reason and open up new opportunities.
