We look our best in subdued colors, sophisticated cuts, and a general air of sleek understatement. You have to stay true to your heritage; that’s what your brand is about. Fashion is always of the time in which you live. It is not something standing alone. But the grand problem, the most important problem, is to rejeuvenate women. To make women look young. Then their outlook changes. They feel more joyous. I think there is something about luxury – it’s not something people need, but it’s what they want. It really pulls at their heart. Online media is increasingly influential in fashion.

I’d like to believe that the women who wear my clothes are not dressing for other people, that they’re wearing what they like and what suits them. It’s not a status thing. Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. Women are more sure of themselves today. They don’t have to emulate the way men dress. I do not have one theme for each season, I just try to make beautiful clothes all year round. A woman has the age she deserves.

Men don’t want another man to look at their woman because they don’t know how to handle it. Go to a place where you’re not going to be stressed, because a honeymoon itself can be a stressful thing. Nostalgia is a very complicated subject for me. I’m attracted by nostalgia but I refuse it intellectually. I like to be real. I don’t like things to be staged or fussy. I believe that my clothes can give people a better image of themselves – that it can increase their feelings of confidence and happiness.

Dressing is a way of life. We have got to change our ethics and our financial system and our whole way of understanding the world. It has to be a world in which people live rather than die; a sustainable world. It could be great. I think in the darkest moments, we need a break. Fashions fade, style is eternal. Nostalgia is a very complicated subject for me. I’m attracted by nostalgia but I refuse it intellectually.
